Alvin Kamara would 'go drink a piña colada somewhere' if Saints ever traded him
The NFL trade deadline is approaching, but don't expect to see Alvin Kamara on the move before 4 p.m. ET on Nov. 4.
The New Orleans Saints running back is in his ninth season with the franchise. He's a lifer and he has no desire to move on from the only team that he's ever known.

An NFL Network report last week stated that Saints general manager Mickey Loomis approached Kamara after other teams expressed interest in acquiring the veteran running back. Kamara was reportedly asked by Loomis if he would want to move elsewhere, but on Thursday Kamara shot down that report.
"Yeah, I don't know where that [came from]," Kamara said, via ESPN. "We talked about [the report] and we was looking at each other like the little Spider-Man meme: 'Did you say something? Did I say something?' I don't know where that came from, but I think I've been vocal enough that ... I don't want to go anywhere. And I said it countless times, y'all know that. I think everybody knows that. The fan base knows that.
"And at the end of the day, it's business. So I don't go upstairs, and I don't have an office upstairs. I got an office in Charlotte at NASCAR, but I don't got an office upstairs, so I don't really sit in those meetings, and I don't really know what happens up there."
Kamara, the team's 2017 third-round draft pick, has made five Pro Bowls, named an All-Pro twice and was voted Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2017. He's the franchise's all-time leader in rushing yards, rushing touchdowns, total touchdowns, total yards from scrimmage, all-purpose yardage and first downs. A future Saints Hall of Famer and Ring of Honor member, he wants to make it work in New Orleans, as he's stated previously.
"I want to be a Saint for a long time, for as long as my career goes," Kamara said in 2024 before signing a two-year, $24.5 million extension. "That's all I'm looking for really."
The 1-5 Saints seem destined to miss the playoffs for the fifth straight season. The 30-year-old Kamara, who has 314 rushing yards and one touchdown this season, isn't focused on his future or the outside noise. And if Loomis ever told him he'd been traded from New Orleans, he knows exactly how he'd respond.
"I just got to keep my head down," Kamara said. "And I don't know, if I was a GM, I guess I would go to the player and be like, 'Hey, we're trading you. Just so you know.' So, if Mickey come downstairs and says that, then I'm going to go drink a pina colada somewhere."
