Aaron Rodgers had a good reason for lighting up OT after being tackled in celebration: 'I'm 41'
Aaron Rodgers had a pretty good reason for lighting up one of his offensive lineman during their 33-31 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday night.
He's old.
The Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback was brought down by left tackle Broderick Jones while the two were celebrating a 68-yard touchdown pass to tight end Pat Freiermuth. Jones hopped on Rodgers' back, which sent them crashing down to the field. Rodgers, naturally, wasn't happy with him and shoved him hard when the two got back up to their feet.

Rodgers was asked about that exchange Wednesday.
What you don't see in the video is right after the throw, he's coming over to me and shaking me and shaking me. I texted him I said, Hey, I love your energy, I love everything you're about. But also, I'm 41. You can't be out there tackling me.'"

Honestly, fair.
Rodgers finished the night going 23-of-34 for 249 yards with four touchdowns and two interceptions. He wasn't sacked a single time, either, unless we're counting Jones' celebration takedown.

The longtime Green Bay Packers star is now in his 21st season in the league. He's thrown 14 touchdowns to just five interceptions while leading the Steelers to a 4-2 start. They'll take on the Packers next on Sunday at Arcisure Stadium in what will be his first game against the team that took him with the No. 24 overall pick in the draft more than two decades ago.
"I don't have any animosity toward the organization," he said, via ESPN's Brooke Pryor. "Obviously, I wish that things had been better in our last year there, but I have a great relationship with a lot of people still in that organization, and this is not a revenge game for me. I'm just excited to see some of those guys and be on 'Sunday Night Football' again."
And even though Rodgers was livid in the moment - it'd be hard to find a starting quarterback in the league who wouldn't be, regardless of his age - he said his relationship with Jones is completely fine. They've almost put the incident behind them.
I love Brod. We had a couple laughs about it," Rodgers said. I told him I'm getting him next, he better watch his back."
