Jets' Garrett Wilson expected to miss 3-4 weeks with knee sprain: report
More bad injury news for Jets star receiver Garrett Wilson.
After missing the previous two games due to a knee injury, Wilson returned to game action on Sunday against Cleveland, but his time back on the field was short-lived, and now the star receiver is expected to be sidelined once again.
According to ESPN's Rich Cimini, imaging revealed that Wilson is dealing with a knee sprain and is expected to miss at least 3-4 weeks. The good news, though, is that Wilson's injury does not require surgery.
Wilson did not have a catch in his return against Cleveland - a 27-20 Jets win over the Browns - and he limped off the field after attempting to catch a deep pass from Justin Fields in the third quarter.
The Jets' passing attack has struggled for most of the season, and Wilson's numbers have taken a hit as a result. In seven games, Wilson has caught 36 passes for 395 yards and four touchdowns. His 56.4 yards per game average is the lowest of his four-year career.
Without a fully healthy Wilson on Sunday, no Jet had more than one reception, with quarterback Fields throwing for just 54 yards. Arian Smith, Isaiah Williams, Tyler Johnson, and the recently acquired John Metchie and Adonai Mitchell, could be in line for more playing time with Wilson sidelined.
