The Giants "urged" rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart to modify his running approach as he misses Sunday's Week 11 game against the Green Bay Packers with a concussion, Adam Schefter reported Sunday morning.

"There have been a whole host of people in Dart's ear all week long urging him to reconsider the way he runs the football -- to be more careful, be more thoughtful," Schefter said on ESPN.

"He's got a propensity right now for taking big hits, and they need him on the field -- not on the bench and in concussion protocol.

New York's franchise signal-caller and No. 25 overall pick in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft was 19-for-29 passing with 242 yards (plus 66 rushing on six attempts) in last Sunday's 24-20 loss at the Chicago Bears.

SNY's Connor Hughesdelved deeper into Dart's "avoidable injury" and how the Giants shouldered much of the blame after New York blew a 10-point lead during a fourth quarter in which Dart exited early:

"What's most frustrating is how Dart got hurt. It's one thing if he's taken down on a sack. Another if it's a late hit while sliding. Those things happen. You can't prevent them. But this was preventable. The Giants called plays for their 220-pound quarterback like he was a 265-poundBrandon Jacobs. It was organizational malpractice."

The Giants fired coach Brian Daboll the next day. Offensive coordinator Mike Kafka is New York's interim coach.

Dart has completed 128 of 204 passes for 1,417 yards and 10 touchdowns to three interceptions while adding 57 rushes for 317 yards and seven touchdowns through nine games.
