When unexpected financial hardship hit Luis Alvarado and Ana Ruiz - a Jewish couple from Hamilton - they suddenly found themselves unable to afford many of the kosher foods they were used to eating. This kind of situation - where the cost-of-living crisis meets cultural food requirements and preferences - is hitting more and more Hamiltonians. Food banks are trying to fill the gap.
