The Seattle Seahawks are expecting standout left tackle Charles Cross to return from a hamstring injury in time for their first playoff game.

If he does, he'll do so with a lucrative new contract. Per multiple reports on Sunday, the Seahawks and Cross have agreed to a four-year, $104.4 million extension to his rookie contract. The deal makes Cross the highest-paid non-quarterback in Seahawks history and the fifth-highest paid offensive lineman in the NFL, according to Spotrac.

Cross is a fourth-year starter who's played in a least 14 games each season since the Seahawks selected him in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft. He started each of Seattle's first 14 games this season, but missed the last three with his hamstring injury.

Seahawks coach Mike MacDonald told reporters before Saturday's season finale against the San Francisco 49ers that the team is "optimistic" that Cross will be able to return in time for Seattle's first playoff game. Thanks to Seattle's 13-3 win over San Francisco, the Seahawks clinched the No. 1 seed in the NFL and will have an extra week for Cross to get healthy with a bye.

The Seahawks clinched the top seed with the NFC's best record at 14-3. They'll take on the lowest-remaining seed in the conference from next week's wild-card round.
