Aaron Glenn is looking to shake things up on his staff for his second season with the Jets.

Here's the latest on that search...

Feb. 6, 8:55 p.m.

Aaron Glenn's offensive staff under OC Frank Reich is taking shape as another coach has been hired.

According to multiple reports, the Jets are hiring Alfredo Roberts to be the team's new tight ends coach.

Roberts was a former tight end who played five seasons in the NFL from 1988-92 with the Chiefs and Cowboys. He had stops around the NFL as an assistant before landing in Pittsburgh as Mike Tomlin's TE coach since 2021.

On the same day that the Jets hired Frank Reich as their offensive coordinator, they also made a coaching hire on the other side of the ball.

The team announced that Karl Dunbar has been hired as defensive line coach, replacing Eric Washington, who was not brought back for the 2026 season.

Dunbar previously held the same position for the Jets from 2012-14, and has spent the last eight seasons coaching the defensive line for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Jets announced that they have completed an in-person interview with Frank Reich for the offensive coordinator position. It's the second interview Reich has had with the Jets after speaking with the former coach virtually on Jan. 28.

Reich is the third candidate, along with Darrell Bevell and Greg Roman, to have a second interview.

The Jets' search for a new offensive coordinator included in-person interviews with veteran coaches Darrell Bevell and Greg Roman on Monday, the team announced.

Bevell, 56, has served as the Dolphins' quarterbacks coach and passing game coordinator for the past four seasons. He also spent the 2021 season as offensive coordinator and interim head coach of the Jaguars.

As for Roman, he spent 2024 and 2025 as offensive coordinator for the Chargers, following a two-year stint running the Ravens' offense (2022-23). The 53-year-old was also among a group of five candidates -- including Bevell -- who recently took virtual interviews with the Jets.

Bevell and Roman have worked as NFL offensive coordinators four times each.

Former Chargers OC Greg Roman will have an in-person interview for the Jets opening early next week, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.

Roman was one of five candidates who recently completed a virtual interview with the team.

According to Fowler, Gang Green is now dwindling that list down to three, and Roman is among that group.

Roman was let go by the Chargers after a two-year stint as OC in Los Angeles. He previously worked as a coordinator with Baltimore (2019-22), Buffalo (2015-16), and San Francisco (2011-14).

Jan. 28, 8:35 p.m.

The Jets announced they have completed virtual interviews with five candidates for the vacant offensive coordinator position: Frank Reich, Greg Roman, Darrell Bevell, Ronald Curry, and Lunda Wells.

Reich, the former head coach with the Indianapolis Colts and Carolina Panthers, served as offensive coordinator with the Philadelphia Eagles during their run to the Super Bowl in 2017. He served as interim head coach at Stanford University last season, leading the Cardinal to a 4-8 record.

Roman was let go by the Chargers after a two-year stint as OC in Los Angeles. He previously worked as a coordinator with Baltimore (2019-22), Buffalo (2015-16), and San Francisco (2011-14).

Bevell has been the Dolphins' quarterbacks coach and passing game coordinator for the past four seasons. Before that, he spent one season as the offensive coordinator in Jacksonville, finishing out the final four games as the Jaguars' interim HC. He's worked as an OC in Detroit (2019-20), Seattle (2011-17), and Minnesota (2006-10). Bevell also served as the interim HC with the Lions in 2020.

Curry has never worked as an offensive coordinator, but the former NFL wide receiver has been a quarterbacks coach since 2021, starting with the New Orleans Saints (2021, adding passing game coordinator to his title for 2022-23) and the Buffalo Bills since 2024.

Wells got his NFL coaching start with the Giants as an offensive quality control coach in 2012 before working as the team's assistant offensive line coach (2013-17) and tight ends coach (2018-19). He has been the tight ends coach with the Dallas Cowboys since 2020.

The interviews come after Gang Green opted to part ways with Tanner Engstrand after one season on Aaron Glenn's staff.

Jan. 26, 8:00 p.m.

Things are progressing between Frank Reich and the Jets to join Glenn's offensive staff, sources tell SNY's Connor Hughes.

It's unknown exactly what role Reich would fill, but sources expect that he'd take over playing calling duties.

Tanner Engstrand may keep his title as the team's OC, but his role will change.

Reich, who comes with plenty of NFL experience, would be an interesting addition to Gang Green's offense.

The 64-year-old spent the past two seasons with Stanford, but he previously served as the OC for the Eagles (2016-2017) and head coach for both the Colts (2018-2022) and Panthers (2023).

Jan. 24, 11:35 a.m.

According to SNY NFL Insider Connor Hughes, Wink Martindale is flying to New York on Saturday and will have an in-person interview for the team's vacant defensive coordinator job.

Martindale, 65, already completed a virtual interview for the position as he looks to return to the NFL. He most recently served as the DC for Michigan the past two seasons and was the defensive coordinator for the Giants from 2022 to 2023.

Prior to joining former Giants coach Brian Daboll's staff, the veteran coach was the DC for the Baltimore Ravens under John Harbaugh from 2018-2021 and the team's linebackers coach from 2012-2017.

Jan. 23, 7:32 p.m.

The Jets are moving on from a number of coaches, including QB coach Charles London, DL coach Eric Washington, LB coach Aaron Curry and pass game coordinator Scott Turner.

SNY's Connor Hughes said on the latest episode of Jets Final Drive that players had "a lot" of issues with Washington and Curry, but Turner being relieved comes as a surprise.

With the mid-season release of DC Steve Wilks, Jets coach Aaron Glenn has now relieved five coaches of their duties.

Jan. 16, 4:45 p.m.

The Jets were busy in the second week of their offseason, completing a first round of interviews for eight candidates for the vacant DC job.

The team announced that they completed virtual interviews with Wink Martindale, Jim Leonhard, Chris Harris, Jim O'Neil, DeMarcus Covington, Daronte Jones, Mathieu Araujo, and Ephraim Banda.

Martindale is the most senior of the group at 65 years old and has the most experience as a defensive coordinator at the NFL level. Recently, the DC at Michigan, he worked last in the NFL with the Giants, where he had a rocky relationship with then-head coach Brian Daboll. Martindale also held the DC job for four seasons in Baltimore and one in Denver.

Leonhard started 40 games over three seasons as a safety for the Jets. After finishing a 10-year playing career, he entered coaching, spending several years at his alma mater, Wisconsin. He was the DC with the Badgers from 2017-22, finishing as the interim head coach for the last seven games. He made the jump to the NFL in 2024 with another of his former teams, the Broncos, where he's been a defensive backs coach and pass game coordinator for the past two seasons, adding assistant head coach to his title this year.

Harris was hired to Glenn's staff last offseason to be the defensive back coach and passing game coordinator, but finished as interim DC after Steve Wilks' firing. Before coming to New York, the eight-year NFL veteran was Washington's defensive backs coach (2020-22) and Tennessee's DBs coach and passing game coordinator (2023-24).

O'Neil has experience with Glenn in Detroit, where he's worked as a defensive assistant since 2024. He got his first NFL gig with the Jets in 2009 as a defensive quality control coach before serving as assistant DBs coach from 2010-12. He was Cleveland's defensive coordinator for two seasons (2014-15), along with NFL stops in Buffalo (2013), San Francisco (2016), Oakland/Las Vegas (2019-20).

Covington also has experience working as a DC in the NFL, holding that position with New England during the 2024 season. He first joined the Patriots under Bill Belichick, serving as a coaching assistant, outside linebackers coach, and defensive line coach after joining in 2016. He served as defensive line coach/run game coordinator with Green Bay in 2025.

Jones was the passing game coordinator and defensive backs coach with the Vikings. He first came to Minnesota in 2020, leaving for one season to be LSU's defensive coordinator in 2021.

Araujo spent the past four seasons, his first in the pro ranks as a coach, with Miami coaching defensive backs.

Banda has been the Browns' safeties coach since 2023 after spending several years coaching in college, including a stint as the DC at Utah State (2021-22).
