Eric Weddle on what Giant players will get with John HarbaughWhy it's No. 3: Much like the Titans job, the Giants job is a fairly blank slate with an exciting rising sophomore quarterback in Jaxson Dart. The return of wide receiver Malik Nabers and running back Cam Skattebo from injury will elevate this job even further. And the presence of Andrew Thomas also secures the franchise left tackle spot - a famously tough spot to scheme around. Figuring out an offense that maximizes Dart's mobility and also protects him from his own recklessness will be tough, but the opportunity to coach under a well-respected CEO head coach in John Harbaugh makes this job attractive.
Why it's No. 4: Brian Burns, Dexter Lawrence II, Abdul Carter and Kayvon Thibodeaux are on the defensive line, that's why. The Giants are well-suited for a big leap in defensive performance, as they underperformed to their talent level last season and should grow into a dominant pressure team as their defensive line continues to gel. Any defensive coordinator who sells out for a four-man rush (looking at you, Jim Schwartz) should love the potential of this group.

John Harbaugh said no' to Andy Reid. Now, he's a $100 million bet for Giants. | NJ.comImprovement wouldn't be hard for the 2024 Giants offense. They ranked 30th in EPA per play en route to a 3-14 season, their worst since 2017. Dart started the season behind veteran Russell Wilson (63.3 grade), but it only took four games for him to step into the limelight. From there, Dart completed 63.7% of his passes for 2,272 yards, 15 touchdowns and five interceptions on a 68.4 overall PFF grade, and his 5.2% big-time throw rate was eighth among quarterbacks in the regular season. Dart showed real promise in Year 1, adding 487 rushing yards and nine rushing touchdowns. Altogether, the Giants finished the season 12th in EPA per play, a major improvement from a year ago. For the first time in forever, there's a sense of hope in New York.
Jaxson Dart says Giants can't wait' to play for John Harbaugh | ESPN.comAndy Reid handed John Harbaugh a manila envelope.
This was part of Reid's routine after every season. He gathered his Eagles coaching staff for a meeting and almost ceremoniously delivered one of those envelopes to each assistant. Inside was that coach's contract details - and salary - for the next season.
Tee Martin on John HarbaughWhen Coach Harbaugh's name came up, that was the one that we were all really, really excited about and wanted to have," Dart said during an interview with ESPN while on a family vacation. So I think from just our standpoint, the guys just can't wait to play for him and have the chance to get coached by him."
Winning," Dart said of his expectations of working with Harbaugh. A whole lot of winning. That's it."

New York Giants. They are hitching their wagon to John Harbaugh and Jaxson Dart, which brings a lot of hope and excitement to a team with lots of young talent elsewhere and the fifth overall pick.
Best landing spots for 10 highest-graded free agents: Offense | PFFWR Alec Pierce, Indianapolis Colts: 80.1 PFF Grade. Best Landing spot: New York Giants Pierce has taken significant steps over the past two seasons in order to cash in this offseason. His 81.6 PFF receiving grade since the start of the 2024 season ranks top 25 among all receivers. Pierce is a lethal deep threat that could transform any offense, as his 24 receptions on throws targeted 20-plus yards downfield ties for the third-most over that span.
Around the leagueJaxson Dart was one of the most aggressive deep passers in college football coming out, recording the most 20-plus-yard passing attempts in the Power Four over his final two seasons. That resulted in the New York Giants posting the NFL's highest deep passing rate last season, but the lack of a vertical threat that can take the top off of defenses was sorely missed. Pierce can step into that role and make an immediate impact.
