Steelers hire Mike McCarthy as head coach
The Pittsburgh Steelers have a lot of question marks as they head into the offseason.
On the heels of their 30-6 loss at home to the Houston Texans in the wildcard round, the Steelers and long-time coach Mike Tomlin parted ways, and it's unclear who will be taking snaps under center in 2026.
For the first time since 2007, the Steelers' immediate future was completely unknown.
I say was, because the Steelers announced on Saturday that they hired former Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers' head coach Mike McCarthy to lead the storied franchise moving forward.

McCarthy, who is originally from the Pittsburgh area, has a 117-112-2 overall head coaching record from an 18-year career, the last five of which were spent in Dallas. He has an overall regular-season winning percentage of 60% with a playoff record of 11-11. He did coach the Green Bay Packers to a victory in Super Bowl XLV.
The Steelers never had a losing season under Tomlin, but they also haven't won a playoff game since the 2016 season. Under McCarthy, the Cowboys had a little more postseason success, but not by a lot.
Is he going to be the right hire for Pittsburgh? Only time will tell.
