For just the fourth time in franchise history, the Baltimore Ravens will have a new head coach at the helm in 2026. FormerLos Angeles Chargers defensive coordinator Jesse Minter takes over after John Harbaugh's 18-year stint came to an end.

One of Minter and the franchise's top priorities is filling out his staff. Multiplereports show he's found his guy to coordinate the offense for two-time MVP Lamar Jackson.

The Ravens are hiring Declan Doyle as their offensive coordinator for 2026. Doyle spent the 2025 season as the offensive coordinator for the Chicago Bears.

Doyle takes over the role from Todd Monken who is now the head coach of the Cleveland Browns.

Head coach Ben Johnson called the plays in Chicago with Doyle working under him in the franchise's second year with quarterback Caleb Williams. The Bears finished the regular season with a top-10 scoring offense for first time since 2018 under Johnson. For the first time since that season as well, Chicago earned the NFC North title.

Here's what to know about Baltimore's new offensive coordinator:

Who is Declan Doyle?

The 29-year-old Doyle hails from Iowa City, Iowa, and started his coaching career for the Iowa Hawkeyes as a student offensive assistant from 2016 to 2018. He's the son of former Iowa football strength and conditioning coach Chris Doyle.

After his three-year stint in college with the Hawkeyes, Doyle joined the New Orleans Saints as an offensive assistant under Sean Payton. He spent three years there - two under Payton and one under Dennis Allen.

Once Payton came out of retirement to coach the Denver Broncos, Doyle followed him and spent the 2023 and 2024 seasons as the team's tight ends coach. He then joined Johnson in Chicago for the 2025 season.

While Johnson called plays, Doyle took on some game planning and film study responsibilities.

"The offensive coordinator position is going to have to be somebody that not only I trust but will be extremely detail oriented, organized and structured to set the table and also be willing to work late nights," Johnson said during his introductory press conference.

Baltimore Ravens coaching staff

Doyle is the first major hire for Minter's staff. Minter is the head coach and will handle defensive play-calling duties given his background on that side of the ball. Doyle will be the offensive coordinator and likely handle more responsibilities than he did in Chicago.

Baltimore still has vacancies at defensive and special teams coordinators.
