Super Bowl 2026: UK time and date, half-time show details and how to watch
The New England Patriots have clinched a spot in a record 12th Super Bowl and will play the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl LX on February 8.
The Patriots' second-year quarterback Drake Maye led his team to a 10-7 win over the Denver Broncos in the AFC Championship game on Sunday, six years after the end of Tom Brady's historic tenure which brought in six Super Bowl victories.
Sam Darnold, the veteran quarterback for Seattle who is on his fifth team in eight seasons, will play in his first NFL championship after the Seahawks defeated the Los Angeles Rams 31-27 on Sunday in the NFC Championship game.
It is the first Super Bowl in four years not to feature the Kansas City Chiefs, who won two championships in a row but were thwarted by the Philadelphia Eagles last year in their attempt to win an unprecedented third consecutive trophy.

Where is it being held? The 68,500-capacity Levi's Stadium is located in Santa Clara, California, and has been home to the San Francisco 49ers since 2014. The stadium, which replaced Candlestick Park as the home of the 49ers, is a multi-use venue capable of hosting a range of sports as well as other events such as music concerts. The stadium seating capacity can be expanded to 75,000 for major events. A number of matches at the 2026 Fifa World Cup will be staged at the venue.
Channel 5 will be showing the game free-to-air in the UK with fans also able to watch on Sky Sports.
Who is performing in the half-time show?Puerto Rican reggaeton and Latin trap artist Bad Bunny will be headlining the half-time show. In doing so the King of Latin Trap" will become the first Latino and Spanish-speaking artist to headline the show as a solo act. The choice of Bad Bunny does not come without controversy as he skipped performing in the US during his 2025 world tour over fears of his fans being targeted by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids.
Singer-songwriter and record producer Charlie Puth will sing the US national anthem ahead of the game. Puth has had UK number ones with the songs Marvin Gaye and See You Again. The American rock band Green Day will also be performing at the opening ceremony.
Who won in 2025?The Philadelphia Eagles ended the Kansas City Chiefs' bid to win an unprecedented three straight Super Bowls as they ran out 40-22 winners at Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans. Philadelphia quarterback Jalen Hurts was named MVP after throwing for 221 yards and two touchdowns. It was the Eagles' second Super Bowl win.
The United States president attended last year's showcase game in New Orleans but will not be present for this year's edition in Santa Clara. Trump told the New York Post that the venue is just too far away".
Trump had also criticised the choice of pre-game and half-time entertainment in Green Day and Bad Bunny. I'm anti-them," he said. I think it's a terrible choice. All it does is sow hatred. Terrible."
How many people watch the Super Bowl?According to the NFL, last year's Super Bowl averaged a record 127.7 million US viewers across television and streaming platforms. It was also watched by 62.5 million outside the US.
