Seahawks WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba named NFL Offensive Player of the Year
SAN FRANCISCO - Seattle Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald had a direct response when recently asked about standout wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba.
Guy is an absolute stud," Macdonald said.
The Seahawks' stud" wide receiver was awarded for his regular season contributions on Feb. 5 when Smith-Njigba was named NFL Offensive Player of the Year at the NFL Honors.
Smith-Njigba is coming off the best statistical receiving season in Seahawks history. The wide receiver compiled an NFL-leading and single-season franchise record 1,793 receiving yards and also set a franchise record with 119 receptions.
Smith-Njigba produced more than 120 receiving yards in six regular-season games. He is one of the best route runners in the NFL and has the versatility to line up all over the field.
Smith-Njigba was selected a first-team All-Pro in 2025. He's a two-time Pro Bowler and was named NFC Offensive Player of the Month for October.

Smith-Njigba is the first wide receiver to win the NFL's Offensive Player of the Year award since Justin Jefferson in 2022. He joins Shaun Alexander, who won the award in 2005, as the only two players in Seahawks franchise history to win the award.
The Seahawks originally selected Smith-Njigba 20th overall out of Ohio State in the first round of the 2023 NFL draft.
