Drake Thomas beats Drake Maye again

Drake Thomas capped an incredible year with the Seahawks by winning the Super Bowl on Sunday night, once again getting the better of Drake Maye in the process. In hindsight, it's a wonder anyone thought that the Patriots would win this game, given the prior history between Thomas and Maye.

Big congrats to Thomas for getting a ring, and for his breakout 2025 season. It took him a while to get here, but he established himself as a valuable player on very good defense this year. He played in every game for Seattle in 2024, but the vast majority of his snaps came on special teams. This season, he played on 68% of Seattle's defensive snaps, and finished the regular season with 97 tackles.

After going undrafted, he was later waived by the Raiders and picked up by the Seahawks. (That's why the Raiders are the Raiders.) Now he's a mainstay on a championship team.
