As the Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks work through figuring out which members of the coaching staff might be heading south for the winter to join Klint Kubiak with the Las Vegas Raiders, they are also at work making additions from other teams.

Friday afternoon NFL insider Adam Schefter of ESPN reported that Mike Macdonald will be adding former Baltimore Ravens assistant coach Daniel Stern to the coaching staff.

Sources: Ravens director of football strategy/assistant quarterbacks coach Daniel Stern is leaving Baltimore to accept a job with the Seattle Seahawks, possibly as their pass-game strategist. But he is off to Seattle.

Stern had interviewed with both the Cleveland Browns and New York Giants in recent weeks, as both John Harbaugh and Todd Monken attempted to take Stern to their new teams. However, it appears as though the appeal to join a proven winner, as opposed to the Giants or Browns, was more attractive to Stern.

With the Ravens Stern held the dual title as assistant quarterbacks coach and director of football strategy, and in particular was the assistant who helped Harbaugh understand situational football, such as fourth down strategies.

For a somewhat aged description of the role he filled with the Ravens, here is a clip from the NFL Network from years ago that provides a high level overview of some of what he did for Baltimore.

And for those who would prefer to see the man himself speak, here is a more recent clip of Stern.

In order to win the play, I need everyone on the same page. Period."

Winning offense isn't about having the best concept. It's about shared understanding.

Same protection call.
Same route adjustment.
Same timing expectation.... pic.twitter.com/V90PUEzrQC

And now it's on to the first weekend of the offseason for the reigning Super Bowl champion Seahawks.
