The Dallas Cowboys are looking to sign a veteran pass rusher to give their defense the boost it needs to keep their offense in games.

According to Trey Wingo, the Cowboys were close to trading for Maxx Crosby of the Las Vegas Raiders, but the asking price became too high after other teams got involved.

Reportedly, the Raiders have offers of two first-rounders, which would be hard to turn down.

This should also end any speculation about the Bengals being in the mix for Crosby. This front office wouldn't dream of giving up two first-round picks for anyone.

Now, the Cowboys are focusing on acquiring Trey Hendrickson, who they could just sign outright, since the Bengals decided not to tag one of the best players in their history.

When considering that the production you get from the two players is similar, and Hendrickson is only 31 years old (compared with Crosby, who turns 29 in August), that isn't a bad option at all for the Cowboys.

Things will become a lot clearer once the legal tampering period starts on March 9.

Things are moving fast re Maxx Crosby. Last night Dallas thought they were close to a deal but since then other teams have raised the ante and potentially are offering the Raiders 2 1st round picks Expected Dallas to now shift their focus to Trey Hendrickson
