Tight end Tyler Higbee agreed to a two-year, $8 million deal with the Rams on Thursday, according to multiple reports.

Re-signing Higbee, the longest-tenured player on the Rams' roster, was among the team's top priorities ahead of the start of free agency next week.

In 10 games last season, Higbee caught 25 passes for 281 yards and three touchdowns.

Although an ankle limited him to eight starts last season, he played an important role in a Rams tight-end quartet that established itself as the team's secondary receiving threat behind the Puka Nacua-Davante Adams combination.

Drafted by the Rams in 2016, Higbee has caught 386 passes for 3,949 yards and 27 touchdowns in 138 games with the Rams. He was limited to just three games in 2024 after he sustained a torn anterior cruciate ligament at the end of the 2023 season.

Higbee's deal comes with the Rams on the verge of finalizing a trade for Chiefs All-Pro cornerback Trent McDuffie.

With the free-agent negotiation period starting Monday at 9 a.m. PDT, the Rams still have several players poised to hit the open market, including Kamren Curl, Jimmy Garoppolo, D.J. Humphries, Akkello Witherspoon and Cobie Durant.
