The NFL is in the middle of some extreme chaos. Tuesday evening brought a report that the Baltimore Ravens had pulled out of the Maxx Crosby trade that they agreed to with the Las Vegas Raiders. It was reported that Crosby did not pass his physical with the Ravens.

Crosby was traded to Baltimore before the work week began, and while free agency began" on Monday with the legal tampering window opening up, no moves (like trades) are official until the new league year begins on Wednesday at 4pm ET. This includes the Dallas Cowboys trading for Rashan Gary as an example.

Speaking of the Dallas Cowboys!

The Cowboys are still in on Maxx Crosby

In the aftermath of the Crosby trade it was reported that the Cowboys finished very close to Baltimore's offer. To be clear that offer was a first-round pick in 2026 and 2027, but obviously that is no longer happening.

As this news was coming out after the trade was undone NFL Network's Tom Pelissero noted that the Cowboys would still be in on a Crosby trade.

There are teams that are going to be interested still in a Maxx Crosby trade, but there are a lot of things that they need to get answers on. Starting with the medical."

I would specifically say, the other team that was in it at the end as we reported is the Dallas Cowboys. I am told the Dallas Cowboys would still be interested in a Maxx Crosby trade."

Pelissero was discussing how there are 32 NFL teams and therefore 32 medical opinions and 32 levels of comfortability from a threshold/risk standpoint. He then noted the Cowboys specifically as a team that would be interested.

For what it's worth, Pelissero's colleague Ian Rapoport noted immediately after that a failed physical is sort of impossible (his words). He noted that physicals are failed" when teams are not comfortable with certain risks.

Could the Cowboys be comfortable with the injury risk that Crosby presents? Obviously the price would not be what it was when Baltimore initially acquired him.

Update: 9:25pm ET

Dianna Russini reported that the Cowboys will not be back in on the Maxx Crosby front.

The Dallas Cowboys are not expected to re-engage in Maxx Crosby trade discussions at this time, a high-ranking source tells The Athletic.
