On Tuesday night, we asked you guys to vote on the first couple of days of NFL free agency for the Chicago Bears, and since the majority of the votes came in on Wednesday, I'd imagine some voters chimed in after the Kevin Byard to the New England Patriots news broke. I'd imagine some votes could have been tabulated after the Bears brought back Elijah Hicks or signed Jedrick Wills Jr., so the point is this isn't the most scientific poll topic this week.

However, a vast majority of Bears fans voted B, with only 3% voting D or F. I really thought we'd have more going negative, considering there really wasn't a big splash made.

If we're looking at a pure player for player roster swap, I really can't complain. The Bears did add defensive players who should be able to play better than their predecessors, and who are better fits for what Dennis Allen wants to do.

My issue, for now anyway, is that the overall position groups on defense are weaker. In the secondary, they added a starting safety and a reserve nickel/safety, but lost both of last year's starting safeties, a starting corner, and a reserve nickel/safety.

The defensive line only has five players on the roster who should crack the rotation. They need to add a couple more veterans, plus a couple of draft picks.

The linebacker corps will most likely get a rookie in this deep class, too.

But free agency isn't over, and the Bears will likely add a handful of players over the weekend.

For as uninspiring as this early wave of free agency was for the Bears, our partners at FanDuel Sportsbook still have Chicago's over/under win total for the 2026 season at 9.5.

For those of you who voted earlier this week, would you change your vote now that a few more transactions have occurred?
