The Cleveland Browns have not necessarily made any big, flashy free agent signings thus far; however, they have made some important moves to improve the roster. Given how unhealthy the offensive line was last year, there is no doubt that if all the new additions are healthy, the 2026 line will be an upgrade.

What about in other areas?

With the loss of Devin Bush in free agency, the Browns signed linebacker Quincy Williams to take his place. The team signed Williams to a two-year, $17 million deal, and as a former All-Pro linebacker, he will be able to start immediately for this team. He has previous experience playing for Cleveland's new defensive coordinator, Mike Rutenberg, so he should fit seamlessly into his defensive system.

After not re-signing David Njoku this offseason, the team needed to bring a blocking tight end to replace what they lost there. Signing tight end Jack Stoll to a one-year deal certainly helps with this. The team clearly has a lot of confidence in what Harold Fannin Jr. brought to the team in 2025, so this signing helps to complement what Fannin Jr. is already bringing to the table. While Fannin Jr. will likely be the main pass-catching tight end, Stoll can hold things down as a blocking tight end.

It's difficult to determine whether the free agent signings will ultimately be successful until the team takes the field. But the organization addressed several roster gaps that needed tobe filledheading into the 2026 season.
