The Rams apparently wanted A.J. Brown, too
Breathe a sigh of relief, NFC West. At least for now.
Having been rumored to be in pursuit of A.J. Brown, the Los Angeles Rams will not be landing the All-Pro receiver at this time.
After serious conversations with both the Rams and Patriots, the Eagles will not trade A.J. Brown at this time, according to multiple league sources.

Both teams remain interested, but no move is imminent. If a trade were to happen, it would likely heat up closer to June 1.
A.J. Brown trade discussions are not dead.

Last week, I was told the Rams discussed trading for Eagles WR A.J. Brown before dealing for CB Trent McDuffie.
Dialogue slowed, but Los Angeles continues to monitor the status of the three-time Pro Bowler with interest. We'll see... pic.twitter.com/Emrtc757UE
From The Insiders on @nflnetwork: The #Eagles have had trade talks involving A.J. Brown as late as this week and there's been positive momentum a few times. Right now, it feels stalled again but another Dallas Goedert void postponement gives Howie Roseman more time. pic.twitter.com/eowOUoOdLm

To summarize the reports:
- The Eagles are actively fielding trade scenarios for Brown
- Brown himself has expressed strong desire to leave the team
- The two frequently reported teams interested are the Rams and New England Patriots
- Mike Garafolo says there has been real momentum" in talks
- The Eagles have decided not to trade Brown at this time
To summarize the situation:
- A.J. Brown expresses a lot of things
- This offseason has been weird
- Dianna Russini has been wrong about a bunch of the Trey Hendrickson / Maxx Crosby news
However, where there's smoke, there's either a fire or an agent with an agenda, and this one's got more than a little smoke.
A couple of thoughts.
From a talent perspective, the Rams with Brown would immediately become an unpleasant thought.
But we can all admit this is pretty weird, right?
A.J. Brown and Puka Nacua would be the most explosive receiver tandem in the league, bar none, over the past decade. They're also both a little nuts.
Brown is five years younger than Davante Adams, who they'd presumably have to deal or release. Receiver was not a problem for Los Angeles last year, and it never has been for Sean McVay, so to throw a bunch at the Eagles to bring back a player who could spend the season competing with Nacua for Weirdest Wideout every week.
I buy that they're looking, but I don't get it.
Regardless, if words are to be believed, Seattle fans can either breathe a sigh of relief or a sigh of regret that an absolute circus is not coming to a town near you.
