Raiders sign offensive lineman who may compete to start

The Las Vegas Raiders continue to work through the second phase of NFL free agency as they have signed offensive lineman Spencer Burford.

Burford may compete for a starting guard spot with second-year player Caleb Rogers or he can provide depth.

Burford, 25, was a fourth round draft pick (No. 134 overall pick) of the San Francisco 49ers in 2022.out of Texas-San Antonio. He started a total of 29 games in his first two seasons, but he didn't start any games in 2024, but started 9 games in 2025. Burford has played in 56 career NFL games with 38 starts.

Burford also visited with the Los Angeles Chargers before he visited the Raiders.

Burford has history with new Las Vegas coach Klint Kubiak, who was the 49ers' passing-game coordinator in 2023.

So, Kubiak clearly had some knowledge and expectations of how to use Burford on the offensive line in 2026.
