Joe Burrow wants to play in the Olympics

Flag football being a part of the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles is going to give a lot of NFL players the opportunity to compete in the Olympics, something that didn't seem inevitable for the previous generation of NFL players.

For Joe Burrow, the opportunity sounds enticing for the Bengals quarterback and one of the faces of the NFL.

I've always wanted to play in the Olympics," Burrow said in a press conference at the Fanatics Flag Football Classic. I've never necessarily played an Olympic sport before, so when this got announced, I was pretty excited about it.

The opportunity to win a gold medal (is) something that I've thought about - a moment like that - for a long time, since I was a kid. I think it would be something very special."

This weekend is the Fanatics Flag Football Classic, with Burrow leading Wildcats FFC along with Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels and San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan being their head coach.

Wildcats FFC, along with Founders FFC, will both compete against the U.S. national team in a round-robin tournament. Founders FFC is highlighted by Tom Brady, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts, and Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton manning the sideline.
