Saints DE Chris Rumph II contract details revealed

After signing with theNew Orleans Saintson a one-year, $1.1 million league-minimum deal with no guarantees last offseason,Chris Rumph IIhas been rewarded with another one-year contract for the 2026 season. Newly revealed details show the 27-year-old will earn a $1.215 million base salary and a $785,000 signing bonus, all guaranteed-a well-deserved raise after a promising first year in the Big Easy.

Rumph posted 47 tackles (24 solo), 11 pressures, eight stuffs, two sacks, one forced fumble and one pass defensed across 330 snaps in 17 games during his first season in black and gold. He served as a valuable depth piece off the edge inBrandon Staley's defense-his former head coach with theLos Angeles Chargers-while also contributing on special teams.

The Saints still need to add to their pass rush, and with future Pro Football Hall of Fame defensive end and franchise legend Cam Jordan potentially having played his last snap sporting the fleur-de-lis, retaining edge depth was a priority for New Orleans-and Rumph's return provides a sense of stability at the position.
