What was Carnell Tate's 40 time? Ohio State pro day results, highlights
It is Carnell Tate's final chance to make a lasting impression.
The Ohio State star receiver has already gone through the 2026 NFL Scouting Combine. Now he has one more chance in front of the NFL world to dazzle scouts, fans, teams and more. The Buckeyes are hosting their pro day for NFL draft prospects on March 25, which will feature the likes of Tate, Arvell Reese, Sonny Styles, Caleb Downs and more.
Ryan Day's program is sending a star-studded class of prospects to the 2026 NFL Draft and Tate is among the headliners.

Many will be watching for his time in the 40-yard dash after a somewhat disappointing result during the combine. Whether or not Tate's ability to run fast in shorts and a t-shirt truly matters is a matter of opinion, but people certainly care about the pomp and circumstance of it all.
Here's a look at Tate's pro day in Columbus, from 40-yard dash time to results and highlights.
What was Carnell Tate's 40 time?Tate didn't run the 40-yard dash at his pro day, opting to stick with the time he posted at the NFL combine.
"I definitely think it could be overvalued," Tate said, via ESPN's Daniel Oyefusi, of the 40-yard dash. "Couple of great NFL receivers right now like Puka [Nacua] and [Jaxon Smith-Njigba]. They ain't run the fastest of times, but they are two the best receivers in the league right now.
All eyes were on the Ohio State star receiver's time after he turned in a 4.53 in the drill at the 2026 NFL Scouting Combine. There were conflicting reports and some controversy about the actual number that Tate posted, but the 4.53 remains the official time from the combine.
Given his style of play, the 40 time doesn't figure to have too much of an impact on where Tate lands in the draft.

Pro days don't seem to hold the same significance that they once did, especially as more players choose to skip drills each year. Tate's performance on Wednesday is unlikely to affect his draft stock.
