With this month's upcoming NFL Draft rapidly approaching, the Indianapolis Colts still have a number of key positional holes to fill, which they so far haven't in free agency.

In particular, the Colts' starting defensive positions of edge and linebacker need to be addressed, while outside wide receiver could also be a position of need offensively. One could make the argument for safety in the backend of the Colts defensive secondary as well-although their top brass is high on 2nd-year safety Hunter Wohler.

Still, 49% of Colts fans believe that linebacker is the biggest need on the Colts roster as it stands right now:

After trading former NFL All-Pro veteran linebacker Zaire Franklin to the Green Bay Packers earlier this offseason, and with fellow veteran Germaine Pratt remaining a free agent, the Colts have a deficiency at the linebacker position-even with the veteran signing of former Arizona Cardinals linebacker Akeem Davis-Gaither.

Fortunately for Indianapolis, this draft class is supposed to be pretty deep at the linebacker position, particularly around Day 2, where the Colts are currently slated to make their first pick on draft weekend (*without a first round pick)-and have both their 2nd and 3rd round draft picks at their disposal to better improve their roster.

Shoring up that position would go a long way defensively toward the Colts making the playoffs again, but the Horseshoe Faithful isn't overly optimistic about Indy's chances right now-with just 29% of Colts fans believing that their squad will snap their postseason drought in 2026:

Who knows, maybe that Colts linebacker could be the next Darius Leonard in Round 2 (we can only hope!), but Indianapolis clearly has its work cut out for it to address a number of remaining critical roster holes-in order to successfully make the NFL playoffs again. It's been too long of a time coming for Colts fans!
