One prospect the Denver Broncos have been showing interest in and could select on day 3 of the 2026 NFL Draft is Ole Miss tight end Dae'Quan Wright. He is a 6-4, 246-pound tight end who is an intriguing pass-catching prospect who can attack defenses vertically.

Wright started his career at Virginia and spent two years there before transferring to Ole Miss and having two solid seasons, including a breakout senior season. During his two-year career at Ole Miss, he appeared in 28 games and totaled 66 receptions for 1,029 yards and 9 touchdowns. This past year, Wright had a breakout season where he appeared in 15 games and totaled 39 receptions for 635 yards and 5 touchdowns.

The Broncos re-signed veteran tight end Adam Trautman and brought back Nate Adkins and Lucas Krull on vet minimum deals, but they can still add to the room. Veteran Evan Engram is still there, but he is in the final year of his deal, will turn 32 years old this season, and has some injury concerns. So, adding a tight end with receiving upside like Dae'Quan Wright would make sense.

What other analysts are saying about Ole Miss tight end Dae'Quan Wright

NFL.com draft analyst Lance Zierlein on Ole Miss TE Dae'Quan Wright

Wright is a high-cut, tight-hipped tight end who can stretch the field vertically but lacks fluidity and bend for crisp route breaks from speed. He builds speed to threaten defenses, working the vertical limbs of the route tree. He can gain an advantage on linebackers when aligned outside. He's big and strong enough to improve as a run blocker but needs better technique and commitment in that area. Wright projects as a Day 3 pick who should fight for a role as a TE3/4.

Should the Broncos draft Ole Miss TE Dae'Quan Wright on day 3 of the NFL Draft?

If they're looking for a receiving tight end with some upside late, sure.

When we're talking day 3 picks, I am pretty open-minded with just about everyone. If the team/coaches think they can contribute, I am willing to give them the benefit of the doubt.

Wright is a good athlete with good speed and has receiving upside. He isn't the most fluid athlete and is a little stiff in the hips, but that's to be expected from a tight end. Blocking will be a work in progress, but the willingness is there; he just needs to work on his technique and strength at the point of attack.

The Broncos met with him formally/informally at the Combine and later had a virtual meeting with him, so there appears to be some interest there. We'll see if the interest turns into the Broncos selecting Wright sometime on day 3 of the 2026 NFL Draft.
