With 2.5 weeks until the 2026 NFL draft, most of the rumors you hear around the Cleveland Browns and other teams should be taken with a grain of salt. On the other hand, often any other roster moves made shortly before an upcoming NFL draft could indicate the direction a team might be expected to go, depending on the magnitude of the move.

On Sunday, we reviewed a statement from GM Andrew Berry about CB Martin Emerson, coming off of his torn Achilles last year, being unlikely to return to the Browns. With Denzel Ward and Tyson Campbell primarily outside cornerbacks, Emerson's return seemed unlikely.

On Monday, we learned that Emerson was taking a visit with the Houston Texans. That afternoon, we learned that Cleveland was signing former Texans CB Myles Bryant to their roster.

Bryant has played six seasons, including the last two in Houston, after signing with the New England Patriots as an undrafted free agent out of Washington. The 5'9" slot corner has played in 77 games, including 20 starts, so far in the NFL, with over 2,500 snaps on defense and over 500 on special teams.

Along with 254 tackles, Bryant has 17 passes defended, four interceptions, 10 tackles for loss, three forced fumbles, and three quarterback hits.

Bryant is the third player on the Browns roster with the first name of Myles, joining Myles Garrett and Myles Harden, a slot corner he will not compete with for snaps.

Cleveland also announced that it had signed six players whom it had tendered as exclusive rights free agents:

  • TE Brenden Bates
  • WR Malachi Corley
  • LB Winston Reid
  • LS Rex Sunahara
  • K Andre Szmyt
  • WR Jamari Thrash

The Browns did not extend a tender to CB Anthony Kendall, who is still an unrestricted free agent.
