Ontario wants to appoint Waterloo region's chair. Here's what some councillors think of the idea

The Ontario government has announced it plans to change aspects of the role of regional chair in several municipalities, including here in Waterloo region. The biggest change is the regional chair would be appointed by the province and not elected by residents. Regional Coun. Doug Craig raised concerns in February and said he was hopeful it wouldn't happen.
