Chiefs News 4/8: Rashee Rice thinks A.J. Brown ‘would be nice’ in KC
A pair of Chiefs receivers shared their thoughts on who they'd like in their position room. Rashee Rice and Tyquan Thornton did a TikTok live and took questions from fans.
One asked: Do you want a rookie or a vet in the wide receiver room?
A dog," Thornton said.
Rice mentioned an Eagles wide receiver who is rumored to be on the trade block.
A.J. Brown would be nice in the room, but we go get Carnell Tate or something, that'd be fire too. I ain't gonna lie," Rice said.
They want to see that right there," Thornton said of the fan reaction.
Tate is the Ohio State star who could be the first wide receiver selected in the draft.
We're a young room already, so it don't really matter what we do," Rice said. We're already young."
1 Surprising Need Each NFL Team Could Address in 2026 NFL Draft | Bleacher Report
Surprising Need:Linebacker
Potential Targets
Jake Golday, Cincinnati (7.6)
Deontae Lawson, Alabama (7.5)
Jacob Rodriguez, Texas Tech (7.1)The Chiefs have clear needs along the defensive line and it would be shocking if they didn't draft at least one cornerback. But the reality is that their depth across the defense has taken a hit.
That's the cost of having an elite unit. Losing Leo Chenal in free agency is the kind of thing that doesn't seem like a big deal because they still have Nick Bolton and Drue Tranquill, but others are going to have to step up.
Last year's fifth-round pick Jeffrey Bassa could be part of the puzzle, but the Chiefs could feel like they have to add to the room.
Former Chiefs sixth round pick keeps improbable NFL run alive | Arrowhead Addict
It's rare for anyone from the NFL's draft class of 2015 to still be playing football, given the average career length for a professional football player. But the one member of the Kansas City Chiefs' rookie crop from that year who is still practicing his craft is a surprising one, and he's already found a home for the 2026 season.
Former Chiefs draft pickRakeem Nunez-Roches is heading back to Tampa Bayafter signing a one-year deal with the Buccaneers. He spent the last three seasons with the New York Giants.
Nunez-Roches came to the Chiefs as a sixth-round choicein 2015 and spent the first three seasons of his career in Kansas City. The man affectionately called Nacho" would serve as a rotational lineman for the first year or more of his career and was even waived before his second season. However, the Chiefs promoted him from the practice squad at midseason in 2016, and Nunez-Roches would go on to become an interior starter for most of his third season.
Wilson's rookie season was cut short in 2024due to a hamstring injury, but he had a strong preseason in 2025 and was expected to make a massive leap.
However, Wilsonfell out of Pittsburgh's wide receiver rotationduring the middle of the year and had just 166 yards and touchdowns on the season.
Pittsburgh could look to cut ties with Wilson and roll with another option at WR3 behind DK Metcalf and Michael Pittman Jr.
If that transpires, theKansas City Chiefs,San Francisco 49ers, andLas Vegas Raiderscould have interest in the young receiver.
All three teams could use more playmakers on their offenses, and could take a flyer on Wilson, who still possesses a ton of potential.
Chiefs Now Have Even More Reason to Take Closer Look at Martin Emerson Jr. | KC Kingdom
Around the NFLBrowns starting CB Martin Emerson Jr, who missed last season after tearing his Achilles, is on a visit with the Texans, source said. Emerson was heading into a contract year after starting 27 games for Cleveland before his injury. Now a potential addition in Houston." - Ian Rapoport, NFL Network
Emerson's last healthy season in 2024 was a bit heavy on tackles and a bit light on stats you want as a cornerback. Still, the 2023 campaign was a brilliant one for Emerson: 14 passes defended, four interceptions, and a pivotal role on the No. 1 passing defense in the league with the Cleveland Browns (164.7 yards per game).
Emerson's athleticism may be a step slow, at least at first, but there are reasons to believe he will age well. His six-foot-two frame makes him one of the tallest corners in the NFL. In an ideal world, he'd have been a receiver, but he's as good as it gets as a lockdown corner who excels at jamming receivers off the snap.
That's why the Chiefs should at least consider beating the Texans to the punch if they want to ensure their secondary is as strong as can be.
Mike Vrabel calls characterization of photos with reporter laughable" | Pro Football Talk
The entire NFL is abuzz regarding a new report from Page Six of theNew York Postregarding Patriots coach Mike Vrabel and Dianna Russini, who covers the NFL forThe Athletic.
Before going any farther, I'll say this: Coaches and reporters are entitled to lead their own private lives. Personal business is only the business of the persons involved.
However, both Vrabel and Russini have given comments to thePost. Once that happens, a private matter becomes inherently public.
ThePosthas published photos of Vrabel and Russini, as explained in the article, holding hands and hugging" at a resort in Arizona other than the resort where last week's NFL annual meeting occurred. The photosspeak for themselves. And the relevant parties have said their piece about the images.
These photos show a completely innocent interaction and any suggestion otherwise is laughable," Vrabel told thePost. This doesn't deserve any further response."

In case you missed it on Arrowhead PrideFernando Mendoza, expected to gofirst overall to the Las Vegas Raiders, will watch the NFL draft with family and friends in Miami, someone with knowledge of the quarterback's plans said Tuesday.
That person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because Mendoza hasn't made his plans public.
The draft will take place in Pittsburgh starting April 23, and many top players will be there to receive congratulations and a hug from NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. But players, even those who are drafted first, sometimes prefer to watch from a different location.
Defensive end Travon Walker in 2022 and quarterback Trevor Lawrence in 2021 were the two most recent top picks to watch from afar.
Wishing peace to Arrowhead Pride's fearless leader, John Dixon
From The FeedSocial media to make you thinkIf he didn't say it himself, his amazing wife, Terri, knows it is his dream job.
That's why it is heartbreaking to share the severity of John's cancer, which he has been battling since stepping away from AP to fight back in January. Terri and many other members of their lovely family surround him with company every day.
John successfully underwent brain surgery to remove tumors later that month. He started receiving regular treatment, but the Stage 4 cancer has since proven to overwhelm and render those attempts useless.
As of this writing, John is lying in his bed at home with family around him. He may have just days left as our fearless leader, a father, husband, grandfather, mentor and friend.
Please share any memories, wishes, or other remarks below in the hope that John may be able to hear from theArrowhead Pridecommunity he loved dearly during this time.
