Ravens host WR Denzel Boston, TE Oscar Delp for pre-draft visits

The Ravens are hosting Washington wide receiver Denzel Boston and Georgia tight end Oscar Delp for pre-draft visits on Friday, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and Sports Illustrated's Arye Pulli.

Boston, 22, is a prototypical X receiver with a big frame, reliable hands, and plenty of ball skills. He's a good, but not great athlete who wins with physicality and toughness, plus a solid understanding of leverage and positioning both as a route-runner and at the catch point. His size also lends itself to run blocking, which is crucial for young wide receivers in Baltimore.

But Boston's skillset plays a lot better in college than in the NFL. He does not separate consistently coming out of his breaks, but knows how to flatten routes, shield the ball, and make tough catches. But Lamar Jackson hates tight windows - fewer than 12% of his targets in each of the past four seasons, per NFL Pro - so it's fair to wonder if he would pepper Boston with jump balls relative to, say, Aaron Rodgers.

The 6-foot-4, 210-pound wideout currently sits at No. 25 on Baltimore Beatdown's updated Big Board, making him a potential target if the Ravens trade back in the first round. If they are determined to add a receiver with the No. 14 pick, they would be better served by drafting Indiana's Omar Cooper Jr. or Texas A&M's K.C. Concepcion (assuming Carnell Tate and Makai Lemon are both off the board). We at Beatdown are lower on Arizona State's Jordyn Tyson due to major injury concerns, which also prevented him from participating in pre-draft testing that would offer a more concrete idea of his athleticism.
