Good morning, New York Giants fans!

Styles and Downs were credited as the leaders of Ohio State's impressive defense, and both have the capability of leading an NFL locker room for the next decade. And like Styles, Downs is considered one of the safest prospects in the draft. Former Alabama coach Nick Saban loved Downs, who started immediately for the Crimson Tide and became the first freshman to lead Alabama in tackles. Our evaluators couldn't stop gushing over Downs.

He's a pro," the first executive said. He's one of the cleanest prospects, one of the top four or five football players in the draft class. He's just a really good player. You're hoping you have a chance to take him if you're in the top 10." The second exec added: We probably don't appreciate him enough in how he impacts the game, commands the defense and allows others to do so many different things with how he plays, the intelligence on top of the instincts. You're getting a player in the middle of the field who you have to account for."

2026 NFL Draft: Every team's biggest need | PFF

New York Giants: Linebacker. The Giants loom as an unknown with the fifth overall pick, but there's a reason why Sonny Styles remains a frequent choice in mock drafts. New York did signTremaine Edmundsto a three-year, $36 million contract, but his PFF coverage grade has fallen below 60.0 in each of the last three seasons. Edmunds' more one-sided play, coupled withMicah McFaddenappearing on just 11 snaps in 2025, leaves John Harbaugh seeking more starting options over the middle.

5. New York Giants: Francis Mauigoa, Miami, OT. Should the Giants draft Jeremiyah Love if he's available here? Absolutely! Do that if the Titans don't take my advice. If they do, however, it'll be time to make a smart pick. I know, that's not as fun. It's like getting the chicken bowl at Islands instead of a burger: You might not want to do it, but you should.

Ideal Prospect Fit for Teams Rumored to Want to Trade Down in 2026 NFL Draft | Bleacher Report

New York Giants: LB Sonny Styles, Ohio State. The New Orleans Saints would make for an ideal trade partner as they possess a wealth of Day 3 picks they can package in addition to their No. 8 overall selection. Making this relatively cheap jump up the board could put them in position to get a top-tier wideout such as Carnell Tate-Styles' teammate with the Buckeyes.

While the Giants will still have to hope Styles slips past the Washington Commanders at No. 7 overall, Big Blue's NFC East rivals are reportedly exploring a trade down of their own and have plenty of other pressing holes to fill. Styles would be more of a luxury for a Commanders team that now employs both Frankie Luvu and Leo Chenal.

New York Giants currently projected to receive 2027 compensatory pick | USAToday.com

While the Giants added several notable players, including tight end Isaiah Likely, cornerback Greg Newsome, punter Jordan Stout, and linebacker Patrick Ricard, these acquisitions balanced out the departures of cornerback Cor'Dale Flott, tight end Daniel Bellinger, center Austin Schlottmann, and safety Dane Belton.

This potential draft asset stems primarily from the departure of wide receiver Wan'Dale Robinson, whose loss was not fully offset by the team's incoming free-agent signings As a result, Robinson's exit stands as the key qualifying loss under the NFL's compensatory pick formula. The projection highlights the Giants' measured approach in free agency after an initial wave of spending.

Orlando Brown: Dexter Lawrence would be even more of a baller in orange and black | Pro Football Talk

Dexter Lawrenceis a baller," Brown said. I think he'd be even more of a baller in orange and black. I don't know how that kind of stuff goes necessarily, I don't have all the answers."
