The jury in the Heather Winterstein inquest has found the Indigenous woman's death in a St. Catharines, Ont., hospital was from septic shock and accidental, with many of the 68 recommendations focusing on improving the care of Indigenous people. The family, which had sought a homicide finding, told CBC the outcome backs their view "biased and unfair treatment" played a role in Heather's death.
