The leaks started yesterday for the 2026-27 NFL schedule, and have continued today. News about the Washington Commanders schedule hasn't been flowing, except for rumors about the date of their game in London(October 4th), and their potential opponent(Colts). We've got some official leaks from division opponents that could preview a possible Week 1 matchup with the Cowboys set to host the Giants, leaving the Eagles available for the season opener. We'll know the full schedule before Thursday night's official reveal, giving us another two days to speculate on every detail of Washington's lineup.

The Commanders were one of the hottest teams in the league following Jayden Daniels' Offensive Rookie of the Year season that ended at the NFC Championship Game. The number of primetime games last year showed how much interest the league thought fans would have in year 2. Injuries to Daniels, Terry McLaurin, and a number of other players helped the season spiral to a 5-12 end. Last season the Commanders had 5 primetime games along with playing the Dallas Cowboys on Christmas Day. They also played in the NFL's first game in Madrid, Spain against the Miami Dolphins. That was last year, and now we've got a whole new set of games and circumstances. Kevin Sheehan posted his mock schedule the other day, and it includes 4 primetime games for the Commanders. This is a reasonable estimate, but the team was only scheduled in two primetime games in 2024, before Jayden Daniels became must-see tv during his rookie season. Three to four primetime games sounds right this year, with a Sunday, Monday, and Thursday night game likely.
