Netflix to stream first NFL Thanksgiving Eve game, which will pit Packers vs. Rams
Thanksgiving eve, Drinksgiving, Blackout Wednesday - call it what you will, but the night before Turkey Day is also the latest frontier for a standalone NFL game.
Netflix announced on Wednesday, May 13, that it will stream the Green Bay Packers' visit to the Los Angeles Rams on November 25 - the night before the league's annual Thanksgiving tripleheader and now something of a bookend event to the Black Friday games Prime Video began streaming in 2023.
Given the number of NFL fans who could be in airports, bars or home avoiding their families as the Holidays begin, showcasing a matchup of two perennial playoff teams feels like a substantial win for the streaming giant as it continues to expand its NFL footprint. Netflix will also carry the Week 1 game in Australia between the Rams and San Francisco 49ers, unspecified contests on Christmas and will also now be a presence in Week 18 - when the regular season ends and the playoff field is finalized.
NFL on Netflix is getting even bigger starting in 2026 from kickoff through Super Bowl week:

Netflix will also carry "NFL Honors" next year, prior to Super Bowl 61, when the league's MVP is announced, Hall of Fame selectees are revealed and other league awards are bestowed.
The 2026 NFL schedule will be released entirely on Thursday, May 14, including the specifics of Netflix's remaining inventory for the upcoming season.
