Trump thanks Giants' Jaxson Dart in Truth Social post: 'YOU ARE A WINNER'
The New York Giants made it clear at their OTA practice on Friday, May 29 that they were looking to move forward as a team after Jaxson Dart's introduction of President Donald Trump at a campaign-style rally in Suffern, New York on May 22.
Trump, however, isn't yet willing to do the same. The president shouted out the 23-year-old Giants quarterback in a post to his social media platform, Truth Social,on Saturday, May 30.
"Thank you Jaxson!" Trump wrote. "It was great being with you. I know you're taking some heat from the Radical Left Lunatics who are jealous of you, me, and everyone who surrounds us but, I also know that your Jersey also went to Number One, and you're making Millions of Dollars so, YOU ARE A WINNER - THEY ARE ALL LOSERS. I'll see you in the White House! President DJT."
It wasn't clear whether the last line of Trump's message was an open invitation for the quarterback to come to the White House or if the president was implying the Giants would soon win a championship and earn the traditional celebratory invitation.
Trump has been effusive in his praise of Dart since the Giants quarterback introduced him at the May 22 rally.
During the rally, Trump referred to Dart as a "future Hall of Famer" and a "beautiful guy" with "legs like tree trunks." He also alluded to the quarterback while discussing his policy goals, including his desire to ban transgender athletes from competing in women's sports.
"I'm looking at Jaxson,"Trumpsaid. "I'd like to know, is there any woman in the audience that thinks they can tackle that guy? Because I'd like to meet you. I'd like to shake your hand. I don't know. Jaxson, you think you can play against women OK?"
"Don't get involved Jaxson," Trump added. "Don't answer that question."
Then, in an appearance on Fox News Channel's "My View with Lara Trump," the president once again complimented Dart's looks.
"Well, first of all, I wish I looked just like Jaxson,"Trump said. "He's this guy. I said, is he a male model or what? He's a handsome guy, like a beautiful guy, and a conservative guy."
Trump also claimed Dart told him, "I love you, sir," before praising the Ole Miss product's on-field skills.
"He's potentially a great quarterback," Trump said. "He's a young boy. He had just really started. But when he's in a game, he moves the team. And I didn't know him, but I watched him a little bit. And he really moves the team. He's got tremendous potential. He stays healthy. He's going to be a great."
Dart wasn't the only signal-caller Trump praised May 30 on Truth Social. He also gave a shout-out to former New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady, posting a (presumably) AI-generated graphic of the two with the message "GOAT" written atop it.
"Tom Brady is a great player, and great guy!" Trump wrote.
