Yesterday, the Green Bay Packers signed receiver Christian Watson to a four-year deal worth $110 million in new money, good for $27.5 million per season. This was sort of expected on my end, considering Detroit Lions WR2 Jameson Williams, another speedster from the 2022 class, signed a deal worth $26.7 million per year back in 2025. This offseason, Alec Pierce, another speedster proxy for Watson's market, got $114 million over four years ($28.5 million per) in free agency.

To me, this is just the cost of business for a speedster WR2 with WR1 upside. The cap keeps going up, which means that the cost of starters is going to continue to rise year-to-year.

How are you all feeling about the contract, though? Let us know in the comments section. Don't be afraid to vote in our poll in the feed, either, where we're giving it a letter grade.
