After multiple weeks of OTAs, the Buffalo Bills are on the field at One Bills Drive for mandatory minicamp today through Thursday of this week.

Yes, the seriousness has now been ramped up before the players get a break for summer.

For example, any players not in attendance can be subject to fines by the team, per NFL rules.

While the mandatory element of this three-day practice session is closer to training camp, there are rules limiting mandatory minicamp. There is no live contact, and they don't wear any pads. Just helmets and anything needed for stability, like knee braces.

But with the entire team on the field, the Bills can crank the magnitude of the installation of Jim Leonhard's defensive scheme. That will probably be the biggest point of emphasis. Joe Brady can genuinely start to put his own stamp on Buffalo's offense, which will likely be different from the Bills offense the past two seasons.

While there will be some observational tidbits to takeaway from these on-field sessions, no doubt. But I will be reserving any major judgements from Buffalo's mandatory minicamp this week.
