The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is getting a remake for the Switch 2

Nintendo announced a remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time during its Nintendo Direct presentation on Tuesday. It will launch sometime in 2026 on Nintendo Switch 2. More details will be announced "in the future."

This new title is the first major release in the franchise since 2024's Echoes of Wisdom, which starred Princess Zelda herself. Echoes followed 2023's Tears of the Kingdom, a direct sequel to Breath of the Wild - both of which got upgraded Switch 2 versions alongside the launch of the new console last year. In November, Nintendo also launched the hack-and-slash title Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment.
