Police close investigation of viral video confrontation at Geno Smith's home
Local authorities in Davie, Florida say they have closed their investigation into an incident at the home of New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith.
Over the weekend, a woman posted a video on her Instagram alleging Smith assaulted her. A spokesperson for the Town of Davie Police Department told USA TODAY Sports via email on Monday, June 22 that officers "responded to the Smith residence" on Sunday, June 21, but did not make an arrest.
Davie Police are still reviewing the report for the case and told USA TODAY Sports it was not available for release as of June 22. Though the report has not yet been cleared for public distribution, authorities said they are not looking into the incident any further.
"This investigation is closed," the Davie Police spokesperson said in their email.

Instagram video showed Geno Smith confrontationA woman posted a video on Instagram on Sunday, claiming Smith had "beat my (expletive)."
The 85-second video showed point-of-view shots of the woman confronting Smith. He was heard on the video telling the woman to "stay away from my family" while talking on the phone before retreating into his house.
Following that, the woman ran in the direction of the street holding her phone up and screaming for help, though no one appeared to be chasing her. That prompted Smith to return to his driveway and tell her to "leave my neighborhood." The altercation then continued when the woman approached the 35-year-old after he entered one of the cars parked in his driveway.
The video ended with a brief shot of Smith speaking to three police officers and a caption reading, "Charges, PRESSED!" The authorities did not take anyone into custody as part of their response.
The video quickly spread on social media, garnering millions of views across various platforms.
Neither the Jets nor Smith have addressed the incident.
