Good morning, New York Giants fans!

From Big Blue ViewOther Giant observationsRanking WR, TE, RB groups for 2026: Best and worst NFL teams | ESPN.com

31.New York Giants. The Giants would rank higher if not for the serious injuries suffered by their young talent in 2025. It's unclear whetherMalik Naberswill be healthy enough to return from hisknee injuryto begin the season. Even when Nabers does return, it's fair to wonder whether he'll be anything close to 100%. And whileCam Skattebo's return from a gruesomeankle injuryappears to be closer to completion, the RB was already below average by metrics such as yards per carry, success rate and explosive play rate as a rookie before the injury.

If Nabers isn't ready to be the guy, the Giants are going to struggle to find receivers forJaxson Dart.Wan'Dale Robinsonfilled that role as the primary wideout a year ago, but he has been replaced byDarnell Mooney, who is both a downgrade and too stylistically similar toDarius Slayton. Tight endIsaiah Likelyflashed during his time with the Ravens, but after an 111-yard game on national television in the 2024 openeragainst the Chiefs, he has topped 75 receiving yards just once over the ensuing two years. Let's check back in a year when everyone is (hopefully) healthier.

3. Offensive line. Another ranking that would be hard to believe just a few short years ago, but the offensive line is decidedly on solid footing. They have an All-Pro caliber left tackle in Andrew Thomas, a first-round right guard in Francis Mauigoa, a three-year starting center in John Michael Schmitz Jr. and some solid veterans in left guard Jon Runyan Jr. and right tackle Jermaine Eluemunor. Beyond what should be an above-average starting group, there's also some good depth, including veteran guard Daniel Faalele, center Lucas Patrick, guard Aaron Stinnie and swing tackle Marcus Mbow.

3. New York Giants. Why They Can. The NFC East is almost always chaos, and the Giants lead the division in hype following promising rookie campaigns from Jaxson Dart and Cam Skattebo. They're getting Skattebo and Malik Nabers back from injury, they've added reinforcements everywhere else on offense, and the D has several mega playmakers ready to make statements.

Why They Can't. It's arguably still a work in progress for a team that has just seven wins the last two seasons combined. The Eagles and Commanders met in the NFC title game just 18 months ago, while the Cowboys are loaded on offense.. Prediction. Dallas could still have major issues on defense while Washington carries questions on both sides of the ball. The nothing-to-lose G-Men conquer both but fall short of the division title in a close battle with the more experienced and resilient Eagles. They settle for second place but sneak into the playoffs as a wild card.

Meet Patrick Ricard, whose fullback role may be Giants' most unique: Pancake Pat' | New York Post

Ricard reports to the tight end room, as his job description is far more aligned to that position group than to the size/speed requirements of those who make a living carrying the footballHe could report to a room that says Blockers Only" on the door and he might be the only one to gain entry. Perhaps Chris Manhertz, a tight end with 30 career receptions in 10 NFL seasons, would be there to greet Ricard.

We didn't really have that last year, we had a tight end," running back Tyrone Tracy said. This year with an actual fullback, 300 pounds, like I mean, I'm gonna let him go to work, really I told him, You do what you do, I'm gonna make you right. I'm going to do my best to make sure I'm making you look good, because you're 300 pounds. I know a lot of dudes aren't going to want to block you, they aren't going to want to be blocked by you.' I told Pat, Me and you are gonna make each other a lot of money.' "
