Top-heavy or not, this Los Angeles Rams team has a strong roster. They have quality starters all over the field. At least, that is the epectation. This team may make mistakes, they will make mistakes, but they shouldn't have any consistent holes. That's the plan. That is the hope.

The roster is strong in this one.

It is now July. The football season is approaching and we'll find out if this roster is good on paper or on the field. We'll find out how good this team is. It seems like it's Super Bowl or bust and that's a lot of pressure.

They say pressure can make diamonds, but that's easier said than done. We'll find out what this team is made of one way or the other, but the roster looks good in July.

Rams grade out as a top-5 unit at every position, per NFL analyst (ramswire)

The Rams finished fifth atreceivers/tight ends, fifth inoffensive line, fifth atquarterback, fourth atsecondaryand third atdefensive front seven. No other team in the league can claim that level of consistency across the board.

The headline transformation belongs to the defense. The Rams' secondary was a clear weak spot in 2025, finishing 26th in Sharp's rankings after allowing 29 passing touchdowns. A pair of offseason moves fixed that almost overnight after the Rams traded forTrent McDuffieand signedJaylen Watson- both from the Kansas City Chiefs."

Seahawks' Mike Macdonald Reacts Coolly to Rams' Myles Garrett Trade (sports.yahoo)

But while you can expect some people to be frightened at the thought of going against Garrett twice a year, head coach Mike Macdonald isn't too bothered by it.

Yeah, you hear about what's going on. We've got TVs on. And we've got the social-media-verse. So, yeah,"Macdonald saidvia the News Tribune. Getting up to speed on everything. It's like, there's so much that has to happen between now and when we even start playing games. Like, OK, great.' Myles is a great player. He was in Cleveland when I was coaching (through 2023) for theRavens(who played the Browns twice each season inside the AFC North).

So, we'll adjust accordingly."

Chargers Give Rams Company as Threat to Make Super Bowl a Home Game (si.com)

That's getting ahead of things, of course.Herbert needs to reach the next levelwith Mike McDaniel in town as offensive coordinator and anupgraded offensive line keeping him healthy. The defense needs to survive the transition away from elite coordinator Jesse Minter. And the franchise needs to shake its very rough history with the injury bug.

Much needs to go right, but that's true for any team. And the current vibes make it seem like the Los Angeles Rams aren't the only threat to make the Super Bowl a home game."
