2024 Las Vegas Raiders Same Position Re-Draft
The first class for general manager Tom Telesco and head coach Antonio Pierce, would turn out to be their only draft at the helm of the Raiders as well. The class has started to build rather deep roots for the Raiders, with good talent in the first three rounds and a few picks later on, but the Raiders could improve on a couple spots.
A fun idea I had was a re-draft, but not any re-draft that just picks the best player, I wanted to re-draft the Raiders for 2020 but use the same positions at each selection. For example in 2019 at 4th overall, while I would desperately want to take a defensive tackle, the Raiders selected EDGE Clelin Ferrell and thus they'll stick at EDGE. A few rules:
- Any player can be selected, but only one's who were available with that pick to start with, for example a busted first round pick, who still produced but not at a first round value I can't take in round 3 or 4
- I MUST take a player at the same position that was taken at that selection (QB for QB, RB for RB, etc)
- The overall selections remain the same, I won't assume a trade does or doesn't happen
I plan to do a redraft for 2019 to 2025 re-draft and then my own personal what I would do" 2026 re-draft so keep an eye on those.
Round 1, 13th Overall: TE Brock Bowers (original pick)
Original Pick: TE Brock Bowers
- The 2x Pro Bowler, All-Pro has 1874 yards, 176 receptions, 12 touchdowns, and an average of 10.6 yards per catch in his NFL career despite missing 5 games in 2025, while also dealing with lower snap counts due to an MCL sprain. Bowers has the ability to potentially be among the best tight ends in NFL history when his career is done.
Round 2, 44th Overall: IOL Zach Frazier (51st overall)
Original Pick: IOL Jackson Powers-Johnson
- Before I get eggs thrown at me, hear me out. I really really do like Powers-Johnson and I think there's a very good shot he can become a long term starter for the Raiders for the next 5+ years. He has been impacted by coaching through a part of his career, but Powers-Johnson has also dealt with injuries that certainly can leave cause for concern on his future NFL career. This pick came down to Powers-Johnson, Zach Frazier, Cooper Beebe, Mason McCormick, and Tanor Bortolini. I ruled out Bortolini & Beebe early and then settled on Frazier (Mason McCormick is an absolute stud though, and really was one I considered heavily).
Powers-Johnson has allowed 4 sacks, 6 hits, and 38 pressures with a 4.8% pressure rate across his 843 pass blocking snaps in his career. Additionally, Powers-Johnson has split time at center, and both guard spots but remained a quality run blocker at 4.2 yards per carry lead blocking. Frazier has allowed 2 sacks, 6 hits, and 27 pressures with a 2.1% pressure rate across 1258 career pass blocking snaps, and the 24 year old has 4.8 yards per carry lead blocking though he's been a center most of his career. Frazier is arguably a top ten, or higher center in the NFL at the moment, and while I do like Powers-Johnson he's at a very big crossroad headed into 2026.
Round 3, 77th Overall: DJ Glaze
Original Pick: T Delmar DJ" Glaze
- This was honestly a difficult pick to decide on, while tackles above Glaze have been better they clearly went above him and not available here. Colts tackle Matt Goncalves has looked good in his career and I can hear a case of him over Glaze here but he's also played mostly guard recently. After Glaze, majority of the tackles taken have either reverted to a depth role and/or moved to guard. Glaze has had his ups and downs, and 2025 felt like more downs than ups, where the 23 year old has allowed 13 sacks, 18 hits, and 105 pressures with an 8% pressure rate in his career. There was flashes of being a future longterm RT in 2024, and he's remained a good run blocker despite the severe uptick in losses for the 2025 season where he allowed 10 sacks and 51 pressures in 639 attempts.
Round 4, 112th Overall: CB Tarheeb Still (137th overall)
Original Pick: CB Decamerion Richardson
- The Raiders selected a 4th round CB in back to back seasons, and neither have really progressed, where hopefully Jermod McCoy breaks that curse in 2026. Richardson played in 559 snaps as a rookie allowing 459 yards, 3 scores, and a 120 QBR before being relegated to just 13 snaps in 2025. There's a chance Richardson misses the roster entirely in his third season, but he's an athletic CB with ball skills and a shot he may not. Still has turned into quietly a very consistent CB through his career where the 24 year old has logged 4 interceptions, 17 breakups, 115 tackles, 6 TFL, and allowed 832 yards, 4 touchdowns, and an 80.1 QBR across a 65% reception rate through his first 29 games. Still saw a severe dip in targets for his 2025 season, and while his tackling has been inconsistent, he's a starter that Los Angeles is able to build around.
Round 5, 148th Overall: ILB Tommy Eichenberg (original pick)
Original Pick: ILB Tommy Eichenberg
- After Eichenberg, the only real options to consider is the Giants' Darius Muasau, Eagle's Jeremiah Trotter, and 49ers Tatum Bethune. Bethune logged 94 tackles, 4 TFL, and 5 PBU in 2025 for the Niners but allowed an 80% reception rate and 125 QBR. Muasau has seen 27 games with 18 starts and 106 tackles, 5 TFL, an interception, and 3 PBU in his career while allowing 228 yards, a 75% reception rate, and 90.4 QBR but has played poorly on special teams as well. Trotter will see a big year for the Eagles in 2026 replacing Nakobe Dean, so he's not much of an option here.
I did really struggle between Muasau & Bethune, but ultimately went back to Eichenberg for a few reasons. While Eichenberg has turned in just 49 tackles, a TFL, and a PBU in his 31 games, the 25 year old ranked 3rd in the NFL for special teams tackles with 22 in 2025, and he added another 15 as a rookie where he ranks 2nd in the NFL since 2024 in special teams tackles, and 8th since 2023. Eichenberg showed flashes of being a capable third linebacker, and in the fifth round, the exceptional value on special teams is hard to pass up on, where he also ranked 5th in the NFL for special teams value added in 2025.
Round 6, 208th Overall: RB George Holani (UDFA)
Original Pick: RB Dylan Laube
- Laube was almost the pick here, he was the last runningback drafted in a weak 2024 class which meant I had to head to UDFA's where the options were down to Holani, and former Chiefs possible fullback Carson Steele who's not played since 2024. Holani has a career 83 yards, a touchdown, and 3.3 yards/attempt in the regular season with a fumble, and just 14 receiving yards. He's added 44 yards from scrimmage in the playoffs. Holani did ad 387 kirk return yards on just 16 attempts in 2025 as well and has 7 tackles across two years on special teams. Laube has just 27 yards from scrimmage in his two year career with two fumbles, but he's turned in 11 tackles on special teams and 2 fumble recoveries. Additionally, Laube has a career 1019 kick return yards on 39 attempts. Take your pick there, either are pure special teams value but I went with Holani for the minor offensive impact.
Round 7, 223rd Overall: SAF Thomas Harper (UDFA)
Original Pick: SAF Trey Taylor
- Taylor never played for the Raiders, meanwhile Harper did after being waived by the Chargers & claimed by las Vegas in 2024. He started 5 games logging an interception, 2 breakups, and 25 tackles with a sack across 191 snaps and he added 8 special teams tackles. New Raiders head coach Pete Carroll waived Harper in August where he was claimed by the Lions and would go on to play 483 snaps with 9 starts and 12 games. Harper had a standout performance with an interception, six breakups, a forced fumble, 37 tackles, and 2 TFL. He's allowed a career 246 yards, 2 TD, and an 80 QBR across his 26 targets with just 13 receptions allowed. For a UDFA, Harper has carved an excellent short career, and like other UDFA's the Raiders could have valued him on the roster last year.
Round 7, 229th Overall: CB Christian Roland-Wallace (UDFA)
Original Pick: CB MJ Devonshire
- Devonshire, like Taylor, never played for Las Vegas and since his rookie season he's been involved in 16 transactions from practice squads to releases across the Raiders, Panthers, Ravens, Bills, and now Packers. A total shocker, but Roland-Wallace, another Chiefs CB, has had a decent stint in the NFL thus far with 4 starts in 28 games hauling in two interceptions, four breakups, a forced fumble, and 68 tackles including 3 TFL. The former Arizona and USC standout has allowed just 277 yards, 3 TD, but a 109.2 QBR off an 80% reception rate. Roland-Wallace has also turned in 8 special teams tackles, and 3 misses with a FF in his 411 snaps.
