Colorado football coach Deion Sanders has added two former NFL players to his coaching staff after two other former NFL stars left his staff since last year.

Former NFL safety Pierson Prioleau and former NFL linebacker Xavier Adibi have joined Sanders at Colorado, both as defensive quality control analysts on defense, according to documents obtained by USA TODAY Sports. Both are former Virginia Tech players and coaches who are reuniting with new Colorado defensive coordinator Chris Marve, Virginia Tech's former defensive coordinator.

Prioleau, who won a Super Bowl with the New Orleans Saints for the 2009 season, will earn $100,000 annually, according to his employment offer. Adibi's hiring was previously reported but not confirmed with the school until recently. He was a fourth-round draft pick of the Houston Texans in 2008 and will earn $85,000, according to his employment offer.

Both join a staff that Sanders has been touting since he rebuilt it after last season, when the Buffaloes finished 3-9.

This is the best coaching staff I've had," Sanders said at Big 12 Conference media days in Texas July 7.

Prioleau, 48, had worked at Virginia Tech as safeties coach under Marve in 2024. Adibi, 41, worked Virginia Tech's associate linebackers coach that year before Marve was fired after the 2024 regular season, when the Hokies finished 6-6.

Marve was promoted from linebackers coach to Colorado defensive coordinator in February when previous linebackers coach Robert Livingston left to join the staff of the Denver Broncos.

Colorado also has a new offensive coordinator: Brennan Marion, who replaced former NFL head coach Pat Shurmur.

Other staff turnover gives the Buffs a new look. Pro Football Hall of Famer Marshall Faulk left to become head coach at Southern in December after serving one season as running backs coach. Pro Football Hall of Famer Warren Sapp also left the Colorado staff after two seasons.

Former NFL and Ohio State safety Vonn Bell previously joined the Colorado staff in January under Livingston, who coached him when Bell played for the Cincinnati Bengals. Bell's employment offer in January said he will paid $100,000 annually as quality control analyst. He will coach safeties for the Buffs, who start the season Sept. 3 at Georgia Tech.
