The New York Giants on Saturday opened two roster spots with training set to begin in a few days. The Giantss waived linebacker Cam Jones and defensive tackle C.J. Ravenell.

Jones, 26, played in 10 games for the Giants, almost exclusively on special teams. He spent two years with the Kansas City Chiefs before landing with the Giants. Head coach John Harbaugh cited Jones suffering an ankle injury while moving boxes as the reason why he was not practicing during minicamp.

The Giants claimed Ravenell less than three weeks ago after he was waived off Injured Reserve by the Tennessee Titans. He was let go with a Non-Football Injury" designation.

We will have to wait and see how the Giants fill those spots. With the first practice of training camp set for Wednesday at The Greenbrier Resort, perhaps a Tuesday workout will be held to find replacements.

There is always a lot of churn at the bottom of rosters throughout training camp. Stick with Big Blue View to keep abreast of the latest transactions.
