One of the league's top young defenders has just gotten paid.

Defensive tackle Jalen Carter and the Eagles have agreed to a four-year extension, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The initial numbers indicate the deal is for $152 million and worth up to $160 million, including $106 million guaranteed. That makes Carter the highest-paid defensive tackle in league history.

Carter, whose fifth-year option was exercised earlier this offseason, is now under contract with Philadelphia through 2031.

The No. 9 overall pick of the 2023 draft, Carter was instrumental in helping the Eagles win Super Bowl LIX to cap the 2024 season.

In his three years, Carter has registered 13.5 sacks, 25 tackles for loss, and 37 quarterback hits in 43 games with 27 starts. A two-time Pro Bowler, he's also tallied 13 passes defensed and four forced fumbles.
