Buffalo Bills wide receiver Tyrell Shavers was placed on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list on Tuesday, July 28, per a report by Sal Capaccio, just before the start of training camp at St. John Fisher University. It's a move widely expected, following the torn ACL Shavers suffered during the Bills' Wild Card road win over the Jacksonville Jaguars this past January.

How long will Shavers be on the PUP list?

Shavers' designation is specifically labeled as Active/PUP. Since NFL teams are just starting training camp, players placed on the PUP list can be elevated off of it at any time before the regular season. Any player taken off PUP can return to practice as soon as they are medically cleared.

Should Shavers' injury require more rehab time at the start of the regular season, he would then be placed on the Reserve/PUP list and be required to miss at least the first four games of the season.

Shavers was a significant contributor in 2025

During the 2025 NFL season, Shavers appeared in 17 regular-season games, starting nine. He caught 15 passes (23 targets) for 245 yards and one touchdown, with 11 catches going for first downs, and a long reception of 43 yards, per Pro Football Reference.

Shavers caught one pass on two targets for 14 yards in the lone playoff game he started against the Jaguars.
