Cowboys training camp practice #2: Dallas’ star WR duo makes their presence known

TheDallas Cowboyswere back at it again on Thursday afternoon, holding their second training camp practice out in Oxnard, California.While the first few practices of camp usually don't produce many fireworks, players getting back on the field, even in a limited capacity, always drives discussion.

Today, the Cowboys' star receiving duo of CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens were the leaders of that conversation. At this point, it's an easy argument to make that the Cowboys have the best pair of receivers in the NFL. This afternoon, Dallas' talented wideouts showed why they both are so special, making plays all practice long.

Pickens started the show, kicking off the afternoon with an impressive grab by the sideline.

As practice wore on, both Pickens and Lamb continued to make their presence felt.

Last season we saw defenses struggle time and time again trying to stop the slant to George Pickens. Today, it was his running mate who burned the defense on this route, as Lamb got off the line with a great release and made a nice catch on the run.

While he did put together a more-than-solid 2025 campaign, Lamb's breakaway speed is something we didn't see a whole lot of last season. Lamb's 320 YAC and his 4.3 YAC/REC were both the second-lowest of his six-year NFL career. Getting Lamb back to being that dominant after-the-catch player that he has been throughout his time as a Cowboy will likely be a main focus for Dallas' offense this upcoming year.

While it may be hard to imagine Dallas talented receiving duo playing any better than they did last year, working together for the second year may bring out an even better version of each player this upcoming season. If Pickens can find consistency throughout the entirety of the regular season and Lamb can replicate his 2023 All-Pro-caliber campaign, it's hard to see any defense in the league capable of stopping Dallas' offense.
