Colts reportedly receive positive news on TE Tyler Warren’s groin injury

According to NFL Insider Jordan Schultz, the Indianapolis Colts have received positive news on Tyler Warren's groin injury suffered during Wednesday's joint training camp practice against the Atlanta Falcons at Grand Park:

Sources: #Colts TE Tyler Warren suffered an abductor strain during practice today, but in the words of a source, he is going to be fine" and is not expected to miss much time, if any. Should be back next week.

The Colts' 2nd-year tight end left Wednesday's practice during 11-on-11 drills against the Falcons defense, returning in uniform (albeit without a helmet), but with a wrap and ice on his injured groin along the sidelines.

He rightfully did not return to the practice field again and will presumably be shut down for Thursday's training camp practice finale, as well as all of preseason-if that wasn't already a foregone conclusion.

The Colts avoided a potential critical injury, as Warren is expected to be featured prominently within their first-team offense, even with the new addition of veteran wideout Keenan Allen along the outside.

Their 2025 first round pick has already flashed again throughout this year's training camp and is coming off an impressive rookie season in which he recorded 76 receptions for 817 total receiving yards and 4 touchdown receptions, as well as rushed for another score. He's poised to have a potential breakout 2nd-year campaign in Indianapolis.

It sounds like Warren will be out a week,' which is great, since it's not weeks.' The latter could've been devastating for an offense where he's expected to be one of the leading targets, and that could also potentially be without Alec Pierce to begin the 2026 regular season.

Simply put, starting Colts quarterback Daniel Jones needs his big bodied, security blanket out there!
