The Baltimore Ravens' quest to replace Pro Bowl center Tyler Linderbaum has hit another snag. Danny Pinter, who appeared to be leading the center competition and started the team's first preseason game, suffered a torn patella tendon during Wednesday's joint practice with the Minnesota Vikings, likely sidelining him for the 2026 season.

As feared, a season-ending injury for Danny Pinter. Really bad luck, had finally put himself in a position to start for the first time in his career. Jovaughn Gwyn now has a huge opportunity - him or Ethan Pocic for the center job. I wonder if Corey Bullock gets back into the mix https://t.co/xCQ9wPQEqJ

Head coach Jesse Minter said that Pinter probably will miss an extended amount of time," but said the team was getting more opinions and declined to confirm any other details.

Torn patella tendons typically take at least nine months to recover from, though Bears offensive tackle Ozzy Trapilo recently returned to practice just seven months after his injury. That would still sideline Pinter until March, so if the reports about his diagnosis are correct, he will not take another snap for the Ravens this season.

This is a developing story that will be updated with more information.
