3 Bengals players to watch vs. Bears
Cincinnati Bengals defensive tackle Landon Robinson (96) celebrates after breaking up a play in the second quarter of the NFL Preseason game between the Cincinnati Bengals and the Detroit Lions at Paycor Stadium in Cincinnati on Thursday, Aug. 13, 2026. | USA TODAY Network via Reuters CoThe Cincinnati Bengals are set to play their second preseason game Saturday night when they host the Chicago Bears.
None of the Bengals starters are expected to play, so this game will be dominated by backups and guys on the 53-man roster bubble.
With that in mind, here are three Bengals to keep an eye on vs. the Bears.
Landon RobinsonRobinson had a fantastic debut in stripes during the Bengals' first preseason game versus Detroit. If Kris Jenkins makes the Bengals roster, Cincinnati would have to opt to keep six defensive tackles on the roster for Robinson to make the initial 53-man roster.
That is exactly what I see playing out at this time. Robinson has flashed too much already to risk trying to get him to the practice squad. The added element of him taking snaps at fullback in goal-line packages is just one more notch in his belt to make this roster.
The decision becomes even clearer if he has another standout performance on Saturday night versus Chicago. He was in on one sack and drew a holding penalty that would have likely led to another one in his debut. If he racks up another sack or two against Chicago, it is time to write his name down in ink.

He had three receptions during the first preseason game, combined with a 13-yard carry on a reverse. He can also return punts and kickoffs as needed.
Meyers could really push for a roster spot in arguably the best receiver room in the league with another standout performance this week against the Bears. He has the ability to get quick separation, can be used in gadget situations, and has produced in the CFL at a high level.

I am going to stick with wide receiver for the third player this week. Young making the roster isn't the question. It is how many snaps he can take away from Andrei Iosivas throughout the year. The fact that he received some snaps during the two series that Joe Burrow was in the game was very telling to me.
Young has strong hands, runs crisp routes, and has great vertical timing to go up and make contested catches. I will be watching to see Young have a big game this week, and to see just how early he is in the game again.
Colbie Young had a ball knocked away that he normally comes up with, but immediately bounced back with 2 receptions for 28 yards on the same drive. It seems he will be given opportunities to earn more snaps as the season goes. The Bengals might have got them one here. pic.twitter.com/CQzxXWi79G
